How much of your weekly income goes towards rent?

Recent statistics show that the majority of Australian tenants are spending one third to a half of their weekly income on rent.

Filling in for Fairsy’s Big Breakfast this morning, Jules has done the numbers and worked out a good third of her pay is going towards rent.

Big breakfast caller Darren from Mayfield, who lives in government housing, claims he spends at least half of his wage on rent.
