News

A vegetation fire is burning in the upper catchment of Sardine Creek on February Plains in the Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park. PWS have a helicopter water bombing and remote crews suppressing the fire today.

The fire is not threatening Cradle Mountain, Arm River Track or the Overland Track. Arm River Track was temporarily closed until fire behaviour was established, and is now reopened.

Incident Management Team for this fire and Lake Mackintosh fire is operating from Cradle Ranger Station on Saturday and Sunday, and there will be increased helicopter movements over the Cradle Mountain area.
