Sydney dog shot with four projectiles

A dog has been shot in the spine, lung and ribs in western Sydney, with a man and his teenage grandson being spoken to by police.

Four projectiles which were discovered inside the dog after it was rushed to the vet by its distressed owners on Monday night can't be removed without the animal dying, police say.

Several firearms including an air rifle have been seized from a Cecil Park property, while a 66-year-old man and 14-year-old boy are assisting police with inquiries.
