Woman bitten twice by brown snake in Qld

A woman has been rushed to a Queensland hospital after suffering two bites from a highly venomous brown snake.

The 32-year-old was struck twice on her foot by the deadly reptile after she tried to pull a pump out of water on a property northwest of Rockhampton.

She is in a stable condition in the Rockhampton Base Hospital after being airlifted from the scene, the RACQ Helicopter Rescue Service said on Monday afternoon.
