Young teens approached by man in NSW

Three teenagers who were riding their bikes near Newcastle have been approached by an unknown man.

Two girls, aged 16 and 14, and a 13-year-old boy were riding their bikes in Georgetown on Saturday about 6.15pm when a man stopped to speak with the two girls before the trio rode away.

A short time later one of the girls stopped to tie a shoelace when she saw the same man running towards her, but she managed to ride away, police say.

Police are looking for a man to assist with inquiries, describing his appearance as Caucasian, about 180cm tall, clean shaven and wearing dark pants and a blue hooded jacket.
