Cop jailed over attack on cheating spouse

Taspolcrest A decorated Tasmania Police officer is behind bars for attacking his unfaithful spouse.

The 50-year-old, who can't be named, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault on his wife after finding out about her infidelity.

Hobart's Supreme Court heard he attacked the woman several times before she fled with children for help.

He's been given 4-and-a-half years and will have to serve 27 months before parole.
