New Helpline for Mental Illness

A new Awareness Campaign launched today by the Mental Illness fellowship of Australia urges people in Tasmania who are caring for people with schizophrenia to reach out and get free help.

The new campaign is focused on highlighting that the high levels of stigma around this treatable condition need to be tackled head on.

Wendy Groot - CEO of Mental Health Carers Tasmania says a new help line will give people advice as to where to get help in their community.

“The new free helpline which is called MiNetworks it operates in over 100 locations across the country and is growing all the time,the number is 1800 985 944 and its a number people can ring to get advice,referrals and information as they need it.”
