CommSec says Australia's economy is witnessing its strongest growth in 15 months, with spending increasing by 0.6% in March.

The latest Commonwealth Bank Business Sales Indicator shows Tasmania managed to double that figure, with a 1.2% increase.

"In Tasmania spending has increased consistently, up for 62 months straight, which is great news for local businesses."
