Cricket Tasmania has secured its new assistant coach.

Former South Australian batsman and coach, Jeff Vaughan, will join the coaching panel that's being revamped following test great Mike Hussey's review of Cricket Tasmania's operations..

Vaughan arrives at Bellerive today and will commence work with new head coach Adam Griffiths and the Tigers squad in coming weeks.

Griffiths said his new assistant brings 'a wealth of knowledge and experience in the batting space'.

"He has worked well with the likes of Callum Ferguson and Travis Head during his time in South Australia and I am looking forward to seeing him develop the batting group we have here.

"He is also a person of outstanding character and work ethic who will fit in very nicely to what we are building within the program," Griffiths said.
