Glenorchy suspension extension

Suspended Glenorchy City aldermen have been told there's the prospect of another 6 month suspension unless they can convince the state government otherwise.

Their current suspension's ending early next month.

Local Government Minister Peter Gutwein's written to them outlining how with new information not yet available from a board of inquiry report on claimed dysfunction at the council, he's inclined to keep aldermen on the sidelines.

They have until July 31st to state their case.

There's also been a decision to extend Adriana Taylor's contract running the Huon Valley Council as Commissioner for an extra 12 months.

She stepped into the role in October last year when the council was sacked.
