An inmate has escaped from a prison farm in southern NSW.

Aaron Phillip Watson, 24, was being kept at the minimum security Mannus Correctional Centre at Tumbarumba and was reported missing about 7.30am on Saturday.

Police released Watson's photograph and called for help from the public to find him, but a spokeswoman was not able to say what he was in jail for.
