The nominations for the 2016 APRA Music Awards have been announced, with many Aussie favourites tipped for more than one prize. Jarryd James is leading the pack, with nominations in the Song of the Year category (Do You Remember), Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year, Most Played Australian Work and Pop Work of the Year. Sia has been nominated four times, twice in the Most Played Australian Work category (for both Elastic Heart and Flashlight, which she wrote for Jessie J) and twice in the Pop Work of the Year category for the same songs. Other artists up nominations include rock legends AC/DC, Perth five-piece Birds of Tokyo and electronic duo Peking Duk. This year’s winners will be announced during a ceremony hosted by writer, producer and comedian Brian Nankervis in Sydney on Tuesday 5 April.
