A 16-year-old learner driver will appear in court after police allegedly intercepted a vehicle doing 168kmh on the Midland Highway near Perth on the weekend.
Police say the teen, who is limited to just 90kmh under the rules of a learner license, was accompanied by a supervising driver at the time.
A red Holden Commodore has been impounded for the next month
The incident has prompted police to remind those in a supervisory role of their responsibilities when it comes to learner drivers.
At this stage there has not been any indication police are taking action against the supervisor.
