A trainee teacher at a Catholic school in Launceston has appeared in court charged with possessing child exploitation material.
44-year-old former local journalist Damian Brown was arrested after a raid of his Riverside home on Tuesday.
Officers seized devices that police say allegedly contained child abuse material.

He did not enter a plea during a brief appearance in the Launceston Magistrates Court.
Catholic Education says it’s carrying out internal investigations as well as co-operating with police.
He will be back in court next month.
