Launceston Creates

We’re excited to invite you to share and celebrate Launceston Creates, a free, inclusive, and family-friendly event happening on Friday, November 15, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Civic Square. This unique event brings together local artists, creators, and community members for an inspiring evening of creativity, showcasing the vibrant talent within our region.

Launceston Creates originated from the Great Regional City Challenge Quick Wins Contest as part of a mandate to help make Launceston a Great Regional City. This initiative is focused on building community pride, celebrating local creativity, and fostering connections that enhance the vibrancy of our city.

Admission: Free, open to all ages

The evening will begin with a smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country performed by Palawa artist Danny Gardner, setting the tone for an inclusive celebration. Our event is proudly diverse, featuring disabled artists, multicultural and gender-diverse performances, and participants ranging in age from 16 to 83.

Throughout the night, we’ll feature live performances and displays from visual artists, performing artists, and musicians. Attendees can support their favorite artists by purchasing votes, with the top-voted artist in each category receiving a $1,000 prize. The event will also feature food trucks and family-friendly activities, including balloon artists and face painters, as well as workshops for both kids and adults.
