With our weather starting to warm up, we’re being given a heads-up that snakes are starting to get active again.
Local handlers say they are seeing an increase in call-outs as the reptiles come out of hibernation after winter.
Anyone spotting a snake is advised to stay well away, and make sure that and includes pets and children, and then contact a local snake catcher.

If bitten, the advice is to sit still, call triple zero and apply a broad bandage over the bite if you are able to secure one.
