Launceston Council will look at the possibility of establishing a street art festival.
The council has voted to look at developing the event in a bid to showcase the work of Northern Tasmania’s street artists, at the same time mitigating graffiti vandalism.
Mayor Matthew Garwood is hopeful the event could be staged during the current financial year.

He says the council is also interested in identifying a street art laneway which could act as a legal street gallery, similar to the street art walls at Royal Park.
