Development applications have been submitted to Launceston Council for three proposed food truck sites in the city.
It follows a decision late last year to heavily slash permit fees on council land, aimed at increasing the number of mobile food outlets in the city.
Under a new fee structure, vendors will be able to get a 12 month licence for $550 , down from almost $2400, as well as a $300 six month licence and $50 for a single day permit.
The council has identified areas at Riverbend Park, West Launceston Community Park and Lilydale Falls Reserve.
The Riverbend Park location would allow for up to four mobile food vans.
The council says it’s a move to support food options in the city.
