Every Wednesday: Choir Of High Hopes

Where: City Mission Chapel, 48 Frederick Street, Launceston
When: Every Wednesday from 10:00am-12:00pm
Details: The City Mission Choir of High Hopes offers an avenue of creative expression through music, song and performance. During the first half of 2007, ABC TV broadcast a documentary series on a choir that consisted of people who were socially isolated. This choir was known as the “Choir of Hard Knocks” winning the hearts of viewers throughout the series. This inspired the City Mission & others to believe that Launceston could benefit from a similar choir. This resulted in what is now known as the “Choir of High Hopes”.
Choir members are supported to become more self-confident and develop their social skill through the encouragement of other members & by participating in community events.
The morning is structured to allow time for social interaction, a midday meal at City Mission’s Day Centre “Morton’s Place” and, of course, lots of singing!
Old and new members welcome, membership is free and open to the public. No experience necessary.
Cost: Free
