A new program helping small businesses to identify energy and money-saving strategies has been launched.
The PowerSmart for Small Business program will provide grants up to $1000 to small businesses to help cover the cost of energy efficiency audits.
Windermere MP and Minister for Energy and Renewables, Nick Duigan, said the program will help businesses to identify where and when they use energy as well as practical ways to reduce consumption and costs.
“Understanding energy consumption is crucial for businesses to find the best ways to save money,” Minister Duigan said.
“The PowerSmart program will give our small businesses the tools to become more energy efficient, which in turn, will help them reduce their operating costs.
“This program not only benefits individual businesses financially but will also contribute to broader economic and environmental goals, such as reducing overall energy demand and potentially lowering emissions across Tasmania.”
The program will offer up to $450,000 in annual support for four years, totalling $1.8 million, dependent on uptake.
