The Tasmanian contingent of board members at TasNetworks now stands at 50 percent with the appointment of Launceston resident Naomi Walsh.
Ms Walsh, who has more than three decades of experience in governance, higher education and the civil construction sector, replaces Miles Smith who resigned in June last year.
She was also the recipient of the Telstra Business Women’s Award.
TasNetworks Chairman, Roger Gill, said “We’re pleased to welcome Naomi to the Board, to strengthen our depth of knowledge in several key areas. And we’re delighted to welcome a fellow Tasmanian who holds the needs and wellbeing of Tasmanians so close to her heart.”
Ms Walsh’s appointment means three of TasNetworks’ six Board members live and work in Tasmania, with a spread of local representation.
The Chairman is based in Hobart, and Non-Executive Director Katherine Schaefer lives on the north-west coast.
