All is ready to roll in the 42nd Longford Truck Run.
Organisers are confident a record number of trucks will take part in the event this Sunday morning which serves as a fundraiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
A fundraising target of $40,000 has been set.
Organisers say the event has come a long way since it began, raising money for St Michel’s Northern Support School:
“Back in those days we started off with only a dozen trucks,” said Ros Bonner.
“And then 70, and with the Longford Truck Run we’re at 200 trucks.”
“It just began as something between a few truckies for a little mateship and to catch up on what’s going on.”
