Northern Tasmanians will now have access to the latest state-of-the art diagnostic technology with new CT scanning facilities in use at the Launceston General Hospital.
It’s the first of two new scanners replacing the hospital’s single existing scanner.
Health Minister Guy Barnett says the $2.6 million project will enable patients to receive life saving diagnoses more quickly and accurately.
He says it’s part of the state government’s long-term vision to transform facilities in the hospital’s emergency department, Acute Care Zone and broader LGH precinct.
