Police urge community to secure vehicles amid spate of burglaries

Six people including four youths have been charged with a range of offences after a spate of vehicle burglaries across the Launceston area in recent months.

A 24-year-old Launceston man has been charged with 19 counts of burglary and 17 of stealing from cars following vehicle burglaries in hotel car parks in the Launceston CBD between August and September this year. 

A 20-year-old George Town man is facing charges for burglaries at Kings Meadows, Norwood and West Launceston.

Police are reminding the community to remove valuables from unattended vehicles and always make sure they’re locked and secure.
