“To bring the Crown Princess here to Hobart and Australasia on this her maiden season down here in Australia, the ship is 18 years old and never been here before which I find amazing.”

Premier Rockliff presented the Captain and crew with a plaque marking the debut in Tasmania’s capital.

“One of many (cruise ships) that will arrive at our shores between now and May next year bringing some 268,000 people to Tasmania, it’s fantastic that the cruise ship season is now open.”

The Crown Princess is now Australia’s largest full-time cruise ship, first arriving in its home port of Sydney on Saturday.
