Quarterly payments for car registrations become an option from July 1st.
The state government credits the change on making it less onerous for those struggling with the bill shock of paying six monthly or yearly amounts.
It is also dropping the admin fee and MAIB surcharge in the short term ahead of a new fee structure to be implemented.
Tasmanian drivers receiving their renewal notice and wanting to transition to quarterly payments can find out more at the Transport website http://bit.ly/TransportTAS or they can call a dedicated telephone support line on 03 6166 4888.
