A kayaker who went missing on northwest Tasmania's Wilmot River is safe and well, although cold after a night exposed to the elements.
Police say the man in his 20s was kayaking with another paddler on Sunday afternoon when he became separated from his watercraft and ended up stranded on a riverbank.
The other man made it to shore and called emergency services for help.
Both were wearing lifejackets and helmets.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter spotted the missing man on Monday morning and took him on board.
