Tasmania has recorded another covid linked death overnight - a man in his 80's in the state's south.

Another 1,216 covid cases have been reported - 6,244 cases are active across the state currently.

1,042 people were released from isolation in the last 24 hours.

40 people are in hospital with covid - 17 are being treated specifically for their symptoms, one person is in an ICU.
