Tasmania Police have slammed the behaviour of a number of drivers in the Southern Midlands.

A 34-year-old has been stopped and fined after being clocked driving at more than 40km/hr over the speed limit at Jericho.

The man was travelling 104km/hr in a 60km/hr reduced speed road works zone on the Midlands Highway.

It's been revealed police have caught 67 people speeding in that section of road in just two days.

Inspector Jim Semmens says it's been frustrating.

"We don’t enjoy handing out penalties, and if people made the right choices on our roads, we wouldn’t have to,” Inspector Semmens said.

“Frustratingly, while many people in our community are supporting our road safety efforts, plenty of drivers are still not getting it.”

Anyone who spots dangerous driving on our roads can report it immediately to police on 131 444.

If it’s an emergency or a life-threatening situation, please dial Triple Zero (000).
