Broad's tilt at Braddon

Shane Broad has now confirmed he's keen to fill the spot for Labor left by the retirement of Bryan Green in Tasmania's seat of Braddon.

The scientist's success is now hinging on the recount of the votes in the 2014 election which could become a contest with former MP Brenton Best who's yet to indicate if he definitely wants to be involved.

Labor leader Rebecca White has prefaced a shadow portfolio for Dr Broad.

"The next opportunity we'll have to consider a reshuffle is when that recount is known and I'll be having those conversations with him at that time, if we have a successul election of Shane Broad, which is my hope."
