Same sex update

Tasmanian Greens Senator Nick McKim's sending out a rallying cry to young people in the state to get on the electoral role to ensure they can influence the same sex marriage postal vote.

While the Senator's hopeful the plebiscite will be killed off in a high court challenge, he wants voters to be prepared.

He's also learnt that one in four young people aren't enrolled.

Meantime, one of those leading the legal challenge to the vote, Tasmanian Independent Andrew Wilkie's celebrating news the High Court has agreed to consider their case next month.

"To agree that they will hear this matter is a win for all of those people in the community, the great many people in the community, who have all sorts of concerns about this non binding postal vote."
