A Southern Tasmanian man arrested over a motorbike drama on the Brooker Highway in July is walking free today, with nearly $27,000 in penalties.
A policeman noticed false plates on Huon William Gendall's motorbike and told him to stop at Lutana, instead the 27-year-old revved the vehicle and rammed the officer, breaking his finger.
The injured officer still managed to arrest Gendall after a brief chase and he's been in custody ever since.
The Supreme Court in Hobart heard it followed searches on Gendall's van and South Hobart accommodation which turned up a taser, prescription drugs and deal bags containing ICE.
After pleading guilty to a raft of charges this morning, Gendall was sentenced to 5 months prison backdated to July, as well as a drug treatment order.
